We maintain a small fleet to maximise efficiency and eliminate empty vehicle running greatly reducing our carbon footprint in the process, showing our commitment to making a positive impact on the environment
Our Transport Story
Originally established as a local fruit and vegetable shop in the village of Kesgrave, the business began its evolution in the late 1970s when founder Don Duff introduced a delivery service from the shop. Partnering with his son, Robert, they expanded operations to supply fresh produce to local hotels & restaurants. At the same time, they began running a clearing house and added container and LCL (less-than-container load) services to their offering. This growth led to the formal registration of the transport arm as a separate entity in 1984. Throughout the 1980s, the company developed a modest fleet. Under Robert’s leadership, it experienced steady organic growth during the 1990s, eventually outgrowing the original site. In 2000, the business relocated to its current premises in Ipswich. Still under Robert’s directorship, the current management team—comprising Robert’s son Jason Duff and Simon Cuthbert—joined the business in 2004. After over a decade of working together, Jason and Simon completed a management buyout in 2018.
Since taking ownership, they have focused on strengthening and building upon the solid foundations laid by Robert. In a step toward continuing the family legacy, Tia Duff has recently joined the office team, marking a fourth generation involvement within the business.

Our Team
At RPS, our small and dedicated management team has been working side by side since 2004, building A strong business and personal relationship. Simon and Jason work closely together to make sure every customer receives a smooth, seemless and reliable service — no matter the requirements.
With over 50 years of hands-on industry experience between them, Simon started his career as an apprentice at 18 and worked his way through some of the region’s biggest haulage and shipping operations before joining RPS in 2004. Jason, meanwhile, grew up around the company — spending his school holidays helping out before joining full-time in the same year. Deeply proud of his family’s legacy, he’s committed to building on the company foundations whilst keeping the personal touch and high standards that have always set the company apart.
